Wie stark ist der Umsatz gewachsen? Was kostet es im Sale? Ist der Zins um ein Prozent oder einen Prozentpunkt gestiegen? Prozentrechnung wirkt einfach, doch der falsche Grundwert ändert das Ergebnis.

Ein Prozentsatz ist ein Verhältnis, ausgedrückt in Hundertsteln. Jede Prozentrechnung läuft darauf hinaus, den richtigen Grundwert (den Nenner) zu wählen, und die meisten Alltagsfälle passen zu einer dieser vier Formeln.

① Wie viel sind B % von A?        A × B ÷ 100          (15 % von 80.000 = 12.000)
② A ist wie viel % von B?        A ÷ B × 100          (12 ÷ 48 × 100 = 25 %)
③ Veränderung von A zu B         (B − A) ÷ A × 100    (200 → 250 = +25 %)
